Our journey is built on the success of our people, and Mel's story is a shining example of this commitment. Her progression from serving at Skinny Duke’s to managing at BNA Brewing Co. and Bernie’s is a testament to our company's growth and development opportunities.

Mel's passion for baking began at a young age, but she truly started to pursue it professionally while working at a small café in Ottawa during the pandemic.

She moved to Kelowna in 2021, bringing her self-taught skills and creativity to our team. Her dedication and hard work were recognized, leading to an incredible opportunity in the Provisions kitchen at Top Table Group’s Whistler café. Mel mastered the art of bread and pastries, and her experience at Araxi introduced her to the fine-dining pastry world.


Today, we are thrilled to announce Mel's promotion to Pastry Lead at Nixon Hospitality! She is excited to bring her passion for high-quality ingredients and innovative desserts to our guests, and she is committed to reinventing classics with a modern twist. We can't wait to see (and taste) what she brings to the table. 🍰👏
