The Rich History of BNA Vernon's Iconic Building

1714 Kalamalka Lake Road

Nestled on the bustling thoroughfare of 1714 Kalamalka Lake Road, the soon-to-be BNA Vernon isn't just a new spot on the map. It’s a storied canvas, echoing the industrial prowess of its former life. This building, once the beating heart of Finning Canada, the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer, has seen countless transitions, embodying the growth and evolution of Vernon itself.

The building's journey began as a hub for heavy machinery, pivotal in supporting industries across British Columbia. Day in and day out, its grounds were lined with bulldozers, excavators, and loaders, all brimming with potential to shape the landscape. As Finning thrived, so did the community around it, relying on the steadfast presence of this industrial giant.

A Vision for the Future

Fast forward to today, Kyle and Carolyn Nixon of Nixon Hospitality have woven their vision into the fabric of this historic site. The metamorphosis is profound—transforming an industrial powerhouse into a vibrant communal hub complete with a restaurant, brewery, bowling lanes, and an arcade. Yet, the transformation is respectful, integrating the building’s original character and purpose into every corner.

Preserving the Essence

As we prepare to open the doors to BNA Vernon, visitors are invited to explore the subtle yet poignant nods to the building's past. The original architectural elements—exposed beams, concrete, and the grandiose scale of the warehouse space—have been preserved and integrated into the new design. These features not only tell a story of resilience and hard work but also serve as a backdrop for new memories and experiences to be made.

We invite you to join us at BNA Vernon, where every pint of beer and strike at the bowling alley echoes the legacy of its industrial past. As we celebrate the grand opening, we're not just raising a glass to a new venue—we're honoring the rich history that has allowed this transformation to take place.
