John's Journey: From Australia to the Okanagan
John's culinary adventure started in the vibrant landscapes of Australia, where he spent seven remarkable years. His journey took him from farm restaurants, where he was directly involved in the farm-to-table process, to an alluring private island near the Great Barrier Reef. It was here that John honed his unique skill of spearfishing, providing fresh seafood directly to the kitchen and delighting guests with the freshest ingredients.
But John's passion for adventure didn't end at the Australian shores. His love for the outdoors and exploration led him on an ambitious trek across all the National Parks in North America. Starting in the bustling parks of the United States and ending in the serene settings of Canada, John fell in love with the stunning landscapes and welcoming communities of the Okanagan Valley.

Now a proud member of the Nixon Hospitality Group, John is all set to infuse the BNA Vernon menu with his rich tapestry of global culinary experiences. Drawing inspiration from his travels across Japan, Vietnam, and other culinary hotspots, John is excited to blend these diverse flavours and techniques into the dishes we serve.
